Protecting our precious planet is a paramount in the development and production of our products. Our ecological footprint is reduced to a minimum throughout the entire supply chain, using sustainably sourced natural ingredients and sustainable packaging. We’ve chosen to work with WeForest, together we plant trees in the Himalayan Mountains.
Our aim is to evolve to a circular model, minimising our CO2 emission and the creation of waste. However, until we have reached that point, we calculate each year our total CO2 emission. To compensate for this emission, we help plant trees in the foothills of the Himalayas, together with WeForest. We chose to support the Khasi hills project. This way, we can support the Khasi communities to restore their forest and to mitigate climate change in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Since the beginning of this cooperation, more than 3000 trees have been planted. Each tree removes an average of 10kg CO2 per year from the air. On a yearly basis, this is equivalent to 30,000kg of CO2.
With the KSKHAWUM Welfare Society, WeForest is supporting traditionally forest-dependent villages in the east and north Khasi Hills to restore their forests. This community project manages tree nurseries, carries out thinning and weeding and establishes natural firebreaks to protect the forest.
The areas are being closely monitored through permanent observation points by different teams specialized in forestry and science. This is how we know the restored forests are growing and making an impact.
